(Of course now that I've watched it I realized because of where I had the camera I got a lot of reflection of the dashboard and steering column! I may do another one before long.) I made the trip to Lover's Leap in Cameron Park, starting at the level of the Brazos River on University Parks Dr. and driving up the winding road of about 2-3 miles finally topping out at the newly renovated observation area. I was able to remain in high gear all the way despite losing some momentum first behind a slow moving car, then coming up on a road implement just before the top that I passed foolishly but successfully. It goes into overdrive at 25, but I have to slow back down to below 20 for it to go back into high gear. However, with the V-8 and 3.73 axle it was able to pull it without having to shift gears. You can see by how far the river is below this area how far I climbed in such a short distance. The 400 plus acre park, which was the estate of the William Cameron family and owner of Cameron Lumber Mills, was deeded in perpetuity to the city in 1910 and has functioned as a source of enjoyment for families ever since. This year marked the centennial and almost a year's worth of renovations were completed about a month ago--the dedication ceremony was yesterday. The biggest changes were made at the Lover's Leap observation point where a very old and low stone wall was replaced by a nice iron retaining fence, still allowing a wonderful view of the Brazos River below and as far east <b>...</b>
