THE PORTHOLES DISAPPEARED ON BUICKS THIS YEAR BUT WERE LAVISHED WITH LOTSA CHROME AS YOU CAN SEE ON THIS PINK AND WHITE ORIGINAL SURVIVOR. CAR SALES WERE DOWN OVERALL WITH ALL MAKES DUE TO THE RECESSION BACK THEN. SOUND FAMILIAR? BUT 4-DOOR SEDAN BUICK SPECIALS DID SELL 48238 UNITS. THIS 4115 LB. CAR SOLD FOR $2700 NEW DESPITE THE 122 INCH WHEELBASE AND CHROME ORNAMENTATION. THE SERIES 40 MODELS WERE AT THE LOW END OF BUICK, FOLLOWED BY SERIES 50 SUPERS, SERIES 60 CENTURY, AND SERIES 75 ROADMASTERS. THE STANDARD ENGINE FOR ALL MODELS WAS THE V8, 364 CID, 4.13 X 3.40 BORE AND STROKE THAT PRODUCED 250 BHP FOR THE SPECIALS, 300 BHP FOR THE OTHER MODEL LEVELS. SERIES 700 LIMITED WERE RIVIERA SEDANS AND HARDTOPS AND VERY RARE CONVERTIBLE COUPES. WHEN VIEWING THIS BUICK NOTICE THE 160 CHROME SQUARES MAKING UP THE GRILLE, THE DUAL FENDER MOUNTED GUNSIGHT FENDER MARKERS, THE SWATH OF CHROME ON THE REAR QUARTER PANEL, THE LUXURIOUS ORIGINAL UPHOSTERY, AND THE CATHEDERAL TAIL LAMPS SURROUNDED BY CHROME, AND THE 300 PLUS POUND EACH FRONT AND REAR BUMPERS.
