FSO Polonez -music clip, history

Music clip(not only slideshow) with all generations of last Polish car- FSO Polonez who would be real car-legend but communist reality trashed his potetential. In 70ties FSO constructors knew that 125p model becomes outdated. They created prototype of FSO Ogar- sporty, aerodynamical car however they realized that new construction base is needed. Cooperation with FIAT let them start production of totally new car. Unfortunetly in communist reality this killed Ogar... There are many teories about how Polonez was created. Some people say that it was constructed by FIAT and FSO enginneers. Other say that this was experimental prototype constructed to check how safe the car can be. Another version say that this was car, first of all on USA market. Anyway in 1975 name of the car was type "137" and it was ready for production. Unfortunetly because of weakness of Polish economy in this time and ill finacial relations between FSO and state new car was introduced in 1978 and never reached final version with powerfull DOHC engines, modern Polish diesel engine, better suspension and brakes. Some of theese improvements were introduced but too late, in 90 when FSO could make its own decisions but was also on edge of bankruptcy. FIAT DOHC engines and Polish diesel engines were introduced only in short series. But FSO Polonez was one of the safest cars in the entire world if not the safest.
