Entry from: San Francisco, United States Entry Title: "San Francisco" Entry: "Woke up late this morning and walked to Coit Tower. Short distance, bloody big hill! Great view from the base of the tower though. Then walked from there to Lombard Street (up another hill) which is known as the "crookedest street in the world", and it was crooked, though I suspect that the only people driving down the street were tourists because why drive down the crookedest street, when one block over you have a normal street?! Next stop, Fisherman's Wharf to walk amongst the REALLY tacky souvenir shops. Sat and had a frozen lemonade listening to some free entertainment (guy called Clay Bell playing guitar - pretty good!) for a while. Walked down the Hyde St pier and looked at the boats. Then, finally, went on a tour to Alcatraz (I thought we were done with hills, but no.. had to climb "heart attack hill" to get to the prison!). Got to "the rock" at about 6pm and took the audio tour which had commentary from both wardens and inmates - very interesting. Last thing we did was listen to the story of Al Capone, before catching the ferry back to San Francisco. Turned on the news tonight to find out that there have been bushfires (they call them wildfires here) in Malibu and LA county where we were driving through a couple of <b>...</b>
