SYBIL GRAHAM, who died in 2004, was a gifted singer-pianist and a peerless interpreter of the Great American Songbook. For the last three decades of her life, she was an Adelaide legend, one who could achieve the rare feat of transforming a noisy saloon crowd into a rapt audience. I was lucky enough, at age 18, to be taken to hear her sing at SAILS in Hindley St in 1977 - it was my first (!) piano bar and I was spellbound by Sybil. Here she is zenning her way through an encounter with morning maven Jaye Walton on Adelaide TV in the late 1970s.
