Entry from: Mount Isa, Australia Entry Title: "Opals, Deck chair, and Crocodile Dundee.........." Entry: "Hello from the lovely outback, Friday the 9th we left Barcaldine and headed towards Winton. We were lucky as we didn't book and because it rained all the travellers that were camping out near the river were in the park. It was packed to the full every night. We had to move off the road for a wide load truck and that side of the van sunk in the ground a bit, the car grunted some when Dave tried to get on the tar again. We stayed the weekend. At around 4.15pm each afternoon someone would walk around with a cow bell to let people know that happy hour was about to start. They had a country singer named Graham Rodger, he sang every night for about an 1 1/2 then later at around 7pm there were bush poets. For the first two nights we went over and listened to the singer and then on sunday night we went later and listened to the poets. There usually is two but this night only one. She was good and what a laugh, she also did a different version of "I love a sunburnt country" changing it for fun to things like I love and sunburnt chest. All including men and it was a laugh. Dave was caught too and I got the photo to prove that. Everyone thought it was good. Winton is also known for Dinosaurs, opals and Banjo <b>...</b>
