2000 Chrysler Grand Voyager Aftermarket Radio Installation

Description

Okay...to hold the confusion down...this is an OLD VIDEO. It was made around January 28th-Feb 3rd, 2009 before the van's engine failed. The van has NOT been repaired as of yet, and its fate is somewhat up in the air at this time. Back around the time that Circuit City stores were going bankrupt and liquidating their inventories, the Chrysler radio in my mother's van experienced a failure of its tape deck mechanism. She'd wanted a CD player for some time, so I found one being offered as an open box special and installed it. After a bit of a false start with the installation kit, I got the new radio put into place. What's interesting is how little the wiring had changed between 1984 and 2000. The wiring assemblies in the van and the '84 Reliant were very similar, as were the radio mounting arrangements. Note that this van is really a *Chrysler* Grand Voyager. Chrysler was phasing out the Plymouth brand name when this van was made, and for reasons known only to them, many vehicles sold under the Plymouth name were badged as Chrysler vehicles. Perhaps it helped them use up left over tooling and parts?
