1929 BUICK'S WERE NOT THAT POPULAR BECAUSE OF THE BULGING SIDES OF THE BODIES. THENCE THEY WERE CALLED "PREGNANT" BUICKS. THE TOTAL BUICK LINE PREVIOUSLY THOUGH WAS GAINING IN SALES YEAR AFTER YEAR. BUICKS HAVE GREAT ENGINEERING, GREAT BUILD QUALITY AND GAINED A REPUTATION WHICH LED TO INCREASING SALES YEAR AFTER YEAR. HOWEVER, THE BUICK DESIGNERS THAT CREATED THAT BLOATED LOOK FOR THE '29 MODEL YEAR REALIZED THEIR MISTAKE AND TRIMMED THE FAT OFF THE BODY FOR 1930.
