1956 Porsche 356A Speedster Speedsters are THE iconic Porsche 356. Introduced in 1954 as a somewhat stripped, low-priced competitor for the Austin-Healey 100, they became the instant favorite of racers because of their low weight, and of sporty warm-climate aficionados who did not mind the lack of weather protection. Just over 4900 Speedsters were produced, most of which have been lost to history -- racing accidents and rust taking many of them from us. This US-delivery Speedster is an original survivor totally refurbished to street concours condition. It will afford its proud new owner opportunities to show at local and regional concourse as well as the pride of driving the iconic and very sporty Speedster. This Speedster has a totally rebuilt -- to full factory specs -- period correct 1600cc Normal engine, which powers the lightweight car very capably. Likewise the four-speed gearbox and the shifter were completely rebuilt and operate easily and crisply, exactly as they should. The suspension has been totally refurbished and the complete brake system is brand new. Mechanically, this 54-year old car performs as new. The body is completely restored. The very clean California tub was completely stripped and expertly repainted in Speedster white, code 3051. The all-original panels exhibit terrific fit with excellent gaps. The bumpers are original and, of course, all steel with correct anodized uprights. Body trim and glass are all new -- including the lights, grills, shine <b>...</b>
