Il Centro Europeo Modellismo Industriale è una realtà formativa operante sul territorio regionale dal 1998. Il progetto nasce dalla stretta collaborazione tra l' Agenzia dei Servizi Formativi della Provincia di Cuneo e l'ANFIA -- Associazione Nazionale Filiera Industrie Automobilistiche -- per rispondere a un fabbisogno occupazionale espresso dal settore carrozzieri-autovetture. La delineazione di un profilo professionale adatto a queste esigenze coinvolse, e coinvolge tuttora, una commissione di tecnici composta da designers, tra i fondatori si ricordano Giorgetto Giugiaro, aziende e modellisti esperti, provenienti dalle più importanti aziende del settore.
