Solex 4A1 carburettor -GM6 Spares Co 01736 810500

For sale on eBay Feb 2011. This Solex 4A1 carburettor is from a Vauxhall Royale 2.8 circa 1980. I believe the same carburettor was used on the Mercedes 280, some BMWs and Rolls-Royce Corniche & Camargue. The item has been partly refurbished, mainly by cleaning and freeing-up of the secondary stage air flaps and needles. As can be seen in the video they are in good working order; usually on these carbs the flaps are seized or the cam mechanism for lifting the needles is broken. Other commonly faulty components that are in working order are the TN starter, the accelerator pump, throttle stop damper, secondary air flap damper, cold start choke etc. I have not been able to test this on a car but from my experience of working on cars fitted with this carb, and fixing them, I can see no reason why it should not be in good working order. It may be need a little fine tuning though.
