1949 Plymouth Special Deluxe Coupe

This car is going to auction at Zephyrhills, Florida. Note the original California tag with the 1949 metal renewal tab! The car looks to be original....the interior is spotless! First year for the keystart ignition at Chrysler Corporation..they made a big thing about that! "Chair high" seats...and the cars themselves were tall..the idea being that those wearing hats could fit inside nicely, without having to remove their hats! It was the last year for the over ten year run of the trunk-lid mounted stoplight! Manual shift was the only transmission available on Plymouth..."Hy-Drive" semiautomatic would not be an option until 1953. Just a very comfortable coupe!
