I'm not going to sugar coat it, growing up in the Philippines I had such distate for a train wreck show that's called "That's Entertainment". That show is a huge hit for the young audience in the late 80s, early 90s. However, some of the Pinoy Pop icons emerged from that show. Manilyn Reynes, Lea Salonga, just to name a few. The late Francis M was one of the early members. This song was huge back then due to heavy airplay and at the time, sounded fresh. His music sound is a fusion of ethnic filipino instruments/hiphop/pop music. And I was glad that, as an artist, he pioneered this Pinoy Hiphop movement. It' sounded cool at the time that an artist raps in tagalog. Check out is other notable singles that are Pinoy Pride themed if you can find them: "Tayo'y Mga Pinoy", "Man From Manila". This song was released as 7" and 12" vinyl record.
