1997 Volkswagen Passat TDI cold start

Description

Cold starting my 1997 Volkswagen Passat TDI diesel at around 48 degrees F. It was just cold enough for the glow plugs to be activated, to warm up the combustion chambers before starting. If it was a few degrees warmer, they wouldn't go on. The belt squeak disappears quickly as the engine warms up.
