This is video I shot in HD with an iPhone 4, of Jamie Cullum performing live at The Newport Jazz Festival at The International Tennis Hall Of Fame, in Newport, RI on 8/6/2010. The video is out of focus and shaky at the beginning... give it a couple of seconds to refocus! The show was amazing! If you get the chance to see him live, DO IT! He does not disappoint and he is one of the best live performers I have ever seen! In this part of the show that the clip shows, Jamie descends from the stage, into the crowd to perform his take on the jazz standard "Caravan". Our seats had an excellent view of the action. Check it out! "Caravan" is a jazz standard composed by Juan Tizol and first performed by Duke Ellington in 1937. The lyrics were written by Irving Mills. The song is variously seen as the first Latin jazz song or as a Mideastern influenced jazz song. It has been covered extensively by countless artists throughout the years.
