Elegant L-29 Cord Town Car

Description

Attention, you Auburn-Cord-Duesenberg fans! This film released January 28, 1938. The dishonest delivery men (William Corson and William Donnelly) get to drive the stores glamorous L-29 Cord town car, a front-wheel drive car that many connoisseurs considered the handsomest car made in America. Their co-hort, Whitney Bourne, tries to be equally inconspicuous in her Lasalle 4-door touring sedan. Meanwhile, Preston Foster and Cecil Callaway keep their eye on the thieves from their understated 1937 Buick. Sitting in his snappy Duesenberg convertible Victoria (with Rollston body), Donald Meek (the owner of the jewelry store), pretends to be injured. The same town car was used in Ruth Chatteron's feature "Female" in 1933.
