Rogers Rips Nets as Marauders Trap Golden Eagles

Kayla Rogers exploded for five three-pointers and a season-high 15 points and the Marauders continued their climb into the playoff chase as the University of Mary women's basketball team defeated the University of Minnesota Crookston 81-75. It was the third straight home win for U-Mary. U-Mary improved to 8-11 overall and 4-8 in the Northern Sun. With eight games remaining in the conference season, the Marauders are two games out of the final playoff slot. UMC slips to 8-10 and 6-6 in the NSIC. Rogers came off the bench and nailed 3-of-4 treys in the first half and finished 5-of-8 behind the arc. She also had seven rebounds and three assists. Rachel Zillmer led the Marauders with 17 points and eight rebounds. She went 9-of-10 at the free throw line and added three assists. Liz Sipma scored 12 points and led all players with nine rebounds. U-Mary also was 26-of-32 at the free throw line to 17-for-23 for UMC. In the final five minutes of the game, U-Mary went 12-of-14 at the charity stripe.
