All New 2012 Audi A6 Avant Revealed
Description
After months of anticipation, Audi has officially unveiled the 2012 A6 Avant. Designed to battle the BMW 5-Series Touring and Mercedes E-Class Estate, the Avant features a dynamic design with a bold front fascia, a sloping roofline and an elegant rear end. Despite being larger than the outgoing model, the car weighs up to 70 kg (154 lbs) less than its predecessor thanks to an aluminum-intensive chassis and a lightweight body. Inside, the cabin is elegantly appointed with premium materials, a wrap-around dashboard and driver-oriented controls. Notable options include a head-up display, heated / ventilated front seats, MMI navigation plus (with internet connectivity) and a 1300-watt Bang & Olufsen audio system. In terms of practicality, the boot holds 565 liters (19.95 cu ft) of luggage but that can be expanded to 1680 liters (59.33 cu ft) when the rear seats are folded down. Additionally, similar to the VW Passat, the A6 wagon offers an optional remote boot opening system which is activated by waving your foot under the rear bumper. At launch, five engines will be available. Petrol choices include a naturally-aspirated 2.8 FSI V6 with 150 kW (204 PS) and 280 Nm (207 lb-ft) of torque as well as a 3.0 TFSI V6 with 220 kW (300 PS) and 440 Nm (325 lb-ft) of torque. On the diesel side, the entry-level 2.0 TDI produces 130 kW (177 PS) and 380 Nm (280 lb-ft) of torque. The 3.0 TDI V6 is available with 150 kW (204 PS) and 400 Nm (295 lb-ft) or 180 kW (245 PS) and 500 Nm (369 lb-ft ...
